[When Al flips the feed on, he looks rather perturbed. He opens and closes his mouth several times, trying to find a way to start this whole thing a few times before silent ly shaking his head and turning the Gear around.]

[On the lawn of a certain rowdy house in Goldenrod sands a lone Golurk of unusual coloring. It is waiting patiently, and from behind the screen Al gives a signal. For a moment, everything is still...and then something starts rumbling. The Golurk shakes as if something is rattling around inside until--]

[Lifdoff.]

[The camera tracks it's slow progression up and over the house, rising like some ridiculous mecha out of an 80's anime, before Al whips the Gear back around to his incredibly distressed face.]

Why can it learn Fly?!

[It's been two weeks and he is still not over this.]

[Al pauses for a moment, watching his Golurk land again with a frown, before he continues.]

You'd have hated this summer, then. We got a freak blizzard out of nowhere for a week in August. Actually, the weather had been all over the place that whole month.

Naw, nothing that weird, but we definitely had a lava tornado at least once. And someone's planet apparently had floating fucking brains everywhere? I don't even know, shit was disturbing.

I don't know, dude, it's not like he was even a Hero of Mind. At least the guy whose planet was all nastily awash in blood had the Blood Aspect to make it make some kind of marginal sense.

Hero of...what do you mean by aspects? Is that supposed to be like Pokemon types or something?

Kind of, actually. Though I don't think any Aspects were particularly effective or ineffective against each other. They were just kind of there.

Huh. What did they do, then? Were there powers attached, or was it just a title?

Yeah, powers were attached. My best friend was the Heir of Breath, which sounds pretty stupid but he could cause hurricanes and turn into wind and junk.

You're a time traveler? Or did you make it go slower or faster?

Time traveler's the closest thing. Mostly I'd go back in time in order to get things done within the unreasonable parameters we had to work with. I could do some other stuff, too, but I didn't really explore it that much.

[Wait, does that mean he had multiples of himself running around at the same time? Wow.] That sounds both incredibly useful and incredibly confusing to actually keep track of.

Eh, it was all right. It helped to have someone on the outside keeping tabs on the timeline for me. Otherwise I just kind of went with shit intuitively.

Oh. Well...I can't even begin to imagine how that worked, but I'm glad you had help! Doesn't sound like you miss it all that much, though.

[Not that Al is terribly surprised. Any story he's read that involved time travel inevitably had something go horribly wrong.]

It got pretty annoying after a while, seeing my future selves and having to make a note like, "Yeah, all right, gotta pencil in a trip to the crocodile pit at 3:57, better plan on a fourth loop once I'm done shredding imps for build grist." Like, it wasn't that hard, just got hella tedious after, like, the fifth time consecutively I lived out the same day.

So, what other stuff could your friends do? That Mind hero, could they use telekinesis or anything like that?

Uhh, to tell you the truth, I don't actually. Know? What Terezi's powers do? She wasn't god tier so she sort of had to go the long way to unlock all her shit, and I don't know how far she got. I think some other trolls had telekinesis, though, like, naturally.

[All Al knows about any kind of troll is to never accept a pie from one, really.]
