[Al pouts a bit and starts wriggling to get out from under his so-loving Pokemon. Jealous bugger always has to get his attention.]

[Oh, is that what that button is? Roy hits it. He's dressed in a fairly nice looking suit. Not up to his usual standards but it's not bad. He also looks tired and worn out.]

I'm not sure Eddie understands which one of you is the pet.

[The Luxray in question peers at the screen suspiciously, and lifts a paw to try and bat his trainer's distraction away before Al catches it.] Don't you dare, I need to talk to him!

[This is funny, and it's also nice to see Alphonse being... well, Alphonse. And in his own body.]

...this might seem like a weird question, but what was going on before you were brought here?

Not as weird as some other things I've encountered in the past three days.

[For one, he saw Al's conversation with Lust, for another, the boy looks way too good compared to how his physical state had been described to Roy.]

I was released from the hospital a few weeks ago and went east to oversee reconstruction efforts.

[Yeeeeeeah, about that...]

[It's hard to keep a little disappointment from showing on his face, but he'd already had a feeling when Roy wasn't surprised by is appearance and didn't have an eyepatch.]

[He notices the disappointment, but doesn't react to it.]

It's a bit of a doozy...I'm not quite the Alphonse Elric you know. In my Amestris, the creature that called itself Father never existed.

[There are several things he had been considering but that is not one of them. So congratulations, Roy Mustang is surprised. And a little incredulous.]

[He's leaning in closer to the screen. Well at least he isn't behind the wheel this time so there's no almost crashing the car due to Alphonse saying something surprising, absurd, and unfortunately probably true.]

[At least Al has the decency to look somewhat apologetic this time around?]

Yeah. I met Brother and Winry from your version of things before--they were here for a while, but got sent back home several months ago. I never met Ling Yao, and Selim Bradley was just a normal human boy. And...well, the homunculii weren't created on purpose, on my side of things.

[And this is probably the most important thing.] None of the homunculii that are here aren't from your history. I know them, and...well, Envy's still a jackass, but the others aren't any danger.

People come here and then return to where they came from, you're reasonably sure about that?

[If he's going to accept what Alphonse is saying that's something he wants to clarify. This is going on a bit too long and has been too consistent for him to continue to dismiss it as a hallucination or dream.]

As for the rest, I'd feel more comfortable discussing it in person.

[He has no intention of seeking out the Homunculi, and he's not entirely convinced but he's not in a position to do anything at the moment.]

Uh-huh. Winry had gone and come back before I arrived, and that happened recently with a friend of a friend as well. People don't really seem to remember what happened here when they go back, though...I'm not sure why. [Not that this is the most convincing of evidence, but it's all he's got.] Time won't pass back home while we're here, by the way. We're sent back to the same moment we were taken.

Ah, that's fine. I can come and find you, flying with Clara shouldn't take more than a few days...where are you right now?

If the Edward Elric from my Amestris really was here... then again, both he and miss Rockbell went to ground for a while. It's something to think about.

[Roy follows along right until Al says flying. Then again, Ming's pokemon is supposed to be able to ferry people across the water, and his breathes fire. If he's going to entertain this 'multiple Amestris' theory why not flying.]
