Just how common is all this stuff?

[Yeah, that's a very panicked Alphonse on the screen, with two Espurrs clinging very tightly to his head. Painfully tight, in fact, judging from that wince. And it looks like there are more huddling around Al--seriously, someone needs to find homes for them before he adopts every single damn one of them.]

At least the poor things don't seem to be hurt from it, but this is crazy! I heard about that storm with the Sharpedo, but this doesn't even make sense!

[Lust has a shivering Espurr in her arms.]

Apparently more common than I thought.

They may not be hurt, but they seem shaken by the experience.

[Another Espurr climbs it's way up to cling onto the front of Al's vest, and he pets it with a worried look.] I can't blame them! I'd be scared witless if I fell out of the sky like that.

They don't seem to be getting any better....

[Lust looks down at the one in her arms, still staring with the same blank expression.]

Well, it might take a while for them to get completely back to normal...but if yours isn't shivering anymore that's probably good.

[The pair on Al's head stare at Lust's Espurr on the screen, then slowly lift a paw to wave at it in unison.]

[Lust's Espurr continues to stare.]

I just hope he's not...broken in the head. From the fall.

[Al frowns a little, then sighs.] Hopefully not. It may be that these Pokemon are normally very calm by nature, and their expression just happens to be...well. Weird to us.

[Okay, so maybe that's reaching a bit but he's trying to be optimistic here, goddamnit.]

It's possible. Jigglypuffs can have a rather vacant gaze.

We'll see, I suppose. Poor things.

[It just seems so muted and nervous and...beleaguered. And with that, Lust's thought of a nickname for the thing.]

I think I'll call him Henry.

Jigglypuffs? I don't think I've seen one of those yet.

...Henry? [Al looks at the Espurr again, then smiles.] I think that's a good name. I'm trying to not name these guys quite yet, or else Brother will start lecturing me about knowing the limits of how many animals you can take care of...

Chanteuse!

[It's a matter of seconds before the top and eyes of a Jigglypuff enters the corner of the screen, slowly creeping further in front of Lust.]

That's a Jigglypuff. And I'm sure the cat things will be fine in the wild. Most Pokemon live in the wild. You don't need to rescue them all.

[Al blinks...several times, before smiling. Those are some very big eyes, goodness.] I see what you mean. They're pretty cute, though!

[He sighs, his shoulders slumping.] I know, but I can't help but worry.

This world seems to exist solely for the benefit of Pokemon, I really don't think you have to worry about them, Alphonse.

Well, I'm still not used to thinking like that! It's just weird, how if you think about it there should be a million little problems cropping up and yet nothing happens.

[One of the Espurr reaches up to pat Al's cheek, and he blinks in surprise before sighing and petting it with a somewhat embarrassed smile.] ...ah, I guess the 'weather' is making me crankier than I thought.

You grow accustomed to it. It's alright, Alphonse, you just need to keep in mind that the normal laws of physics and biology we know don't apply here.

There are plenty of berries and other wild Pokemon to look after any unclaimed sky cats.

I'm trying. I keep thinking I've gotten the hang of this place, and then Lisa goes and starts trying to torch Eddie's tail. Not that he put up with that for long, but it's still weird to see them breathing fire and spouting water out of nowhere.

Hehe, sky cats. I wonder what they're supposed to be called. Have Pokemon showed up before that no one knew what they were?

Sometimes I think I'd like to study their biology - there's all sorts of information on common Pokemon around - but then I think it would likely just confuse and frustrate me.

I don't know, but I haven't been here as long as others.

It would certainly be interesting to find out just how they work, but you're probably right that it would make our heads spin. Maybe it's best just left a mystery to spare us the headache.

Hm. Winry's been here a really long time, so I can ask her later.
