Just how common is all this stuff?

[Yeah, that's a very panicked Alphonse on the screen, with two Espurrs clinging very tightly to his head. Painfully tight, in fact, judging from that wince. And it looks like there are more huddling around Al--seriously, someone needs to find homes for them before he adopts every single damn one of them.]

At least the poor things don't seem to be hurt from it, but this is crazy! I heard about that storm with the Sharpedo, but this doesn't even make sense!

[Lust has a shivering Espurr in her arms.]

Apparently more common than I thought.

They may not be hurt, but they seem shaken by the experience.

[Another Espurr climbs it's way up to cling onto the front of Al's vest, and he pets it with a worried look.] I can't blame them! I'd be scared witless if I fell out of the sky like that.

This is the second time I have seen Pokémon fall from the sky...

[Say hi to Scar, Alphonse. He basically has an Espurr clinic going at his campsite. Blankets and bowls of food in the background, swarms of creepy, blank-eyed cats stumbling about.]

The Sharpedo incident being the first.

[At least this one hasn't given him a concussion.]

Are you keeping those?

[He nods to the two clinging to the Elric boy's skull.]

[Al smiles weakly when Scar comes on. He approves 100000000% of that background activity.] Looks like you're keeping busy over there.

These guys? [A few more creep up to shiver and stare at the screen over his shoulders, and he give a very small shrug so he doesn't dislodge them.] I might, they seem to be the most attached to me out of all of them. And not...um. Just in the literal meaning.

[Al turns the camera to explain--apparently Al has gathered as many of the Espurr from outside as he can to shelter them, and where he's sitting is very swiftly becoming a literal mountain of fuzzy, shivering little bodies. His other Pokemon can be seen off-camera, eyeing this whole mess with mixed expressions.] I-I couldn't just leave them all outside...

[Obviously Ed hasn't come back in just yet.]

Weird things happen in this place all the time. This is the second time animals have rained from the sky.

Does your brother realize what's going on?

[Whoops, ratting you out, boy. There are WAY TOO MANY ESPURRS right there.

Not that Scar can talk. But he never said he wasn't a hypocrite.]

They don't seem to be getting any better....

[Lust looks down at the one in her arms, still staring with the same blank expression.]

[ gamzee also has a tiny little espurr in his lap; a little less shaken than most, but that's because gamzee's actually been able to comfort it from its terrible fall and impact with his clown head—

by sharing chicken nuggets.

so here they are, gamzee with his mouth half full of nuggets while the espurr nibbles on a single one.

I heard it rained sharks before I arrived here, but I never expected it to literally rain cats and dogs!

Not that common! I think this is the second time I saw Pokemon falling from the sky and I've been around for a few years.

[Meanwhile, Atsuro is just...trying to calm down his newly caught Espurr.]

It's not all that common, fortunately, though the fact that the only two instances I can think of happened in close proximity is... worrying. I'm hoping it doesn't become a theme...

...regardless of how much sense it makes, though, I think I'd take a rain of shellshocked kittens over a hurricane of sharks any day.

How often is 'all the time'? And what else has happened before?

[Well, that was making an inebriated sort of sense for a bit, but Gamzee trailing off like that is...worrying.]

I don't think anyone would! I'm glad their landings don't end the way you'd expect them to, though. That would be a lot harder to deal with...

They bounce. It's a little alarming...

The residents have taken to laying mattresses out in the town, and at least their landings aren't so hard now.

The weather's been weird for months. This is the second time it's started raining animals since I've been here.

[A few more Espurr have crawled their way up into Al's lap, and he pets them to try to calm them as well.] The way you're acting, it seems like this isn't the weirdest thing that's happened.

It's definitely less damaging to property. I don't wanna think about how many people must have been hurt in that.

Well, it might take a while for them to get completely back to normal...but if yours isn't shivering anymore that's probably good.

[The pair on Al's head stare at Lust's Espurr on the screen, then slowly lift a paw to wave at it in unison.]

...you don't think this is the beginning of a trend, do you?

[Al is about to answer before all the Espurrs around him let out a soft, long 'nyaaaaaaaaaaaaao' in response to Gamzee, which startles him and makes him pause for a few seconds.]

...I...don't think it works like that in this instance. But the region certainly might become an ocean of these guys if this 'weather' doesn't stop soon.

No kidding. I have to wonder if these Pokemon are just that tough or if something else is causing that. Yeah, I've seen people putting some out around here, too. The Pokemon Centers have been going non-stop to get cushions of any kind out for them.
