I did it! I really did it, I got the badge! I mean, my team was way higher level than his, but still--!

[Behind Alphonse, a Liepard jumps up to put his paws on his trainer's shoulders and gives Al a lick on the cheek...then sneezes a glowing feather off his nose.]

Ah hah, Cecil, jeez! --oh, yeah, are these feathers falling anywhere else? They're all over town, and there's nothing in the sky that should be dropping them...at least that I can see.

[ And incidentally, he's just come from the store when he catches sight of Al. There's a raised hand in greeting. ]

Congratulations on the new badge. I'm guessing Morty didn't give you any trouble?

[Cecil's ears perk and he drops down to all fours again to pad over and sniff at Yukio's bag--whatcha got in there, huh?]

Some, but I expected a good fight from a Gym Leader even if my Pokemon were way over his in level. It was pretty fun!

[ He notices the liepard approaching and offers it the bag to sniff. There's nothing to worry about there as far as he's concerned. Just a few potions, a couple of full heals and some pokeballs. Just things to restock his supplies.

But Yukio does reach out to see if Cecil's going to let himself be petted. Somehow, cat-like pokemon make him miss home. ]

Morty knows how to put up a good fight. I managed to get his badge before Rin came back. But it does make me wonder... it can't be good for the gym leaders letting us challenging them with pokemon way over their level, don't you think?

[ Despite his question, he seems slightly amused at the notion though. ]

[Cecil was about to start nosing into the bag when Yukio starts petting him, and thankfully he's distracted by that and butts his head against his hand, purring.]

Probably, but waiting on doing the challenge like I did is probably out of the norm, right? At least that's the impression I got. Though if someone native to this world lived in Goldenrod before they started, it'd make more sense to challenge Whitney and Buggsy before starting with Falkner...

And we've got all this time on our hands. They're probably used to trainers having higher than the recommended teams battling them.

[Cecil purrs louder, then sticks his nose in the bag again to get a better sniff--ooh, a full heal? Yoink.]

Probably. He certainly has the tactics to give higher-level teams plenty of trouble!

[Al nods, pulling a small travelogue out of his pocket and flipping it open.]

Uh-huh! I was figuring we could head out next week, spend a little more time enjoying the sights before moving on.

[ And Yuki finally turns his attention away from the travelogue and back to his shopping bag just in time to see one of the full heals being filched. ]

Looks like Cecil's already picked out one of the things I got for you while I was out.

[Cecil trots back over to Al with a satisfied look, purring and keeping that full heal all to himself while his trainer heaves a sigh. At least he didn't go for the Gear this time...]

Not a problem. I thought you might need a few since Morty's got all those ghost types.

And don't worry about it. Cecil kind of reminds me of my father's familiar.
